Children ages 4-12 will receive a Junior Ranger Handbook. As you travel through the park, complete as many activities as possible.
To be eligible for a badge, children ages 4 to 7 must complete at least five activities and children ages 8 to 12, must complete at least seven activities.
If you come across a ranger during the tour, you can show them your handbook to receive a badge.
Your guide will try their best to help you obtain a badge while you are on the tour however, we cannot guarantee being able to be in the right place at the right time to meet a ranger.
If completing the Junior Ranger Handbook and receiving a badge is a priority for your family, please consider scheduling a private tour in which your guide can make sure your activities are completed and can get you to a ranger to receive your badge. Check out our Private Tours.
Yosemite National Park also offers virtual badges for completed handbooks. For more information, visit the National Park Service Jr. Ranger Page.
Private tours specifically geared toward children can be arranged even if you are not interested in completing the Junior Ranger Handbook.
